Sean Gwinner
Snowboard Education Team, Children’s Specialist Education Team
Biography
Before he could spell “mountain,” Gwinner was already tumbling down them…well, technically ant hills in the Poconos. As a kid, he played every sport imaginable—though more often than not he was off chasing bees, taunting butterflies, or inventing new ways to annoy his teachers. During college in Vermont, Sean’s snowsports career began at Okemo Mountain then Loon in New Hampshire. Eventually, the lure of bigger peaks (and snow that wasn’t just frozen rain rebranded as ‘packed powder’) pulled him west, where he’s since made his mark as a trainer/shreducator at Big Sky, Woodward Park City, Grand Targhee, and Schweitzer.
Along the way, Sean has built a reputation as a storyteller, blending humor, creativity, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. Off the slopes, he’s equally known for his sophisticated palate when it comes to craft beer, wine, and tequila…because every good story deserves a proper toast. Aged like a fine wine but fueled like high-octane, Sean still tears up the road on motorcycles, dominates in national rugby competitions, and carves water just as smoothly as snow on his wakeboard. From the ant hills of Pennsyltucky to the Rocky Mountain peaks, Gwinner continues to prove that the kid who couldn’t sit still can, in fact, move mountains—and occasionally crash spectacularly trying.
