Biography

At age 6, Christine told her parents during a 1982 family ski trip to Big Sky: “I’m staying here to be a ski instructor—see you next year!” While her parents convinced her to come home to Michigan that time, Christine meant what she said.

That childhood dream became reality when she started teaching full-time at Big Sky in 1998-1999. She spent a season teaching at Mt. Hutt in New Zealand before returning home to Montana. She’s been part of the PSIA-AASI Northern Rocky Mountain Education Staff since 2005 and joined Big Sky’s mountain sports school leadership team in 2007-2008.

Now VP of Mountain Sports at Big Sky Resort, Christine turned her six-year-old promise into four decades of doing exactly what she said she would do—staying at the mountain she fell in love with and teaching people to ski.
