NRM Snowboard Education Team Program

This is not just a training program. Participation with this group signifies intent to apply for a job with NRM. Participants in the IT program who choose not to continue on this path will be directed towards other NRM training programs that fit closer to their goals.

IT/Snowboard Education Team Member Pathways

After successfully achieving your AASI Level III, you become eligible to enroll in the AASI NRM region Snowboard Education Team In Training (IT) program. ITs are “in training” to lead AASI NRM Level I assessment events, other AASI NRM education events and on their way to DCE-1 status.

Hiring Process

  • Register, at least two weeks prior to the start date (or pay a late fee) and attend a AASI NRM Snowboard Education Team-IT training event. These are generally held once a year, approximately one week prior to the PSIA-AASI NRM Fall Festival in Big Sky.
  • Shadow a two day AASI NRM Level I assessment event
  • Email the NRM Snowboard discipline chair a completed summary of the Level I assessment event you shadowed. This should consist of a general timeline of when, what, where, who and why you did what you did.
  • Email the NRM Snowboard discipline chair a summary of your own version of a AASI NRM Level 1 assessment event, as if you were leading. This should consist of a general timeline of when, what, where, why and why you will do what you do.

The NRM Snowboard Education Committee will vote on whether you are ready to become a DCE-1 or need to continue your training.

Once you have attained Education Staff 1 status, you may choose to attain Education Staff 2 status.

If hired, you will be expected to attend the Administration Orientation at Fall Training or after the Spring Hiring event.
