Opportunities to give back to Northern Rocky Mountain...

Here it is, election time again. Every year, our division elects two of our members to serve on our Board of Directors. For many, serving on a Board of Directors for three years might seem a bit daunting, or more time than they think that they can devote. Some of you might be on the fence and a three-year commitment might be too much today. Well, have we a deal for you. PSIA-AASI-NRM has several standing committees that work for the Board of Directors or the CEO. We also have committees and task groups that serve for short periods of as they look into specific tasks or answers to questions.

The Board of Directors has three standing committees on the Governance side:
- Governance and Leadership Committee: helps the Board carry out its due diligence function related to healthy development and operation of the board, monitor effectiveness of governance policies, review and recommend optimum board composition for diversity of thought, design an intentional process to recruit and retain the best board members, and monitor the performance of the individual board members.
- Membership Linkage Committee: works for the Board to develop means to engage with current, future, and lapsed members of PSIA-AASI-NRM to expand membership and promote PSIA-AASI-NRM.
- Awards and Recognition: This committee works for the Board of Directors to establish divisional awards and recognition of members and to help with the nomination of NRM members for national awards and recognition.

These committees usually meet a couple times a year over the phone or webinar.

On the operations side of the organization there are several standing committees:
- Discipline Committees: Our six disciplines (Alpine, Snowboard, Telemark, Cross Country, Adaptive, and Freestyle) and two specialist (Children’s and Seniors) all have committees that meet several times during the year.
- Scholarships: The Scholarship committee meets twice a year to review scholarship applications and recommend awards.

Some additional areas that we would like help with are: Women’s Initiative, Marketing, Diversity and Inclusion

If any of these sound interesting and you would like to help out, please contact Stu Hoyt, Division Chairman of the Board (stuhoyt@yahoo.com), or Herb Davis, CEO (hdavis@psia-nrm.org). We know that you have incredible skills both on and off the snow.

Thanks for your interest and continued support of Northern Rocky Mountain!

Cheers,
Stu Hoyt
