Join the NRM Team!
NRM is operates largely on the basis of
volunteer efforts. All of the program chairs, board members and officers
are volunteer positions. Of course, there is considerable prestige that
goes along with these positions.
The Board of Directors is responsible for setting the overall direction for NRM, and translating member needs into a long-range plan of action. Board member positions open up every spring. If you are interested in running for the Board of Directors, you'll need to submit a statement and a photo to Neil Hetherington by March 1. Board statements and ballots appear in the spring newsletter, and the election runs until April. Terms last three years.
Board members must be current NRM members, must have been an NRM member for at least two years, and need to be proficient with e-mail. We hold two board meetings per year, and we do much of our business over e-mail in between meetings. Board members receive one free NRM event per year of service, after your first year of service.
Program chairs run the day-to-day operations of various programs and committees. We have chairs for each of our snowsports: alpine, snowboard, Nordic, children's education and adaptive. We also have chairperson positions for awards, marketing, and snowsports school management. Chairs are appointed by the Board of Directors and serve three year terms. If you are interested, please contact any Board member.
Additional volunteers share their expertise to contribute to the success of NRM. We are always looking for members to share their skills with us. If you have experience with accounting, fundraising, marketing, writing, photography, graphic design, web design, legal services, or other fields, and you are interested in joining the NRM crew, please let us know!
Make sure to thank the volunteers! Next time you cross paths with an NRM volunteer, please let them know that you appreciate their efforts!
