Welcome to PSIA-AASI NRM
In NRM it is our goal to provide snowsports professionals the training and support to develop both personally and professionally. Whether you teach on the snow part time or full time, or at a large or small area, and regardless of the tool on your feet, our purpose is to support you in your job. We do this by:
- Giving you the tools you need to excel
- Offering educational events to improve your skills as a skier, rider and instructor
- Providing a system of certification for instructors that rewards and recognizes three levels of achievement in teaching and skiing/riding
- Providing professional credibility for members, both with the general public and within ski area management
- Keeping you up to date as our sports and our industry change
Please use this website as a resource. The links across the top provide membership, event and contact info and the links on the left provide discipline specific information to help you navigate your way through the certification and professional development process.

PSIA-AASI NRM Fall Fest 2013 - December 13-15 - Big Sky, MT
Why should you attend? Here's what other members are saying...
“Fall Festival has been on my calendar since I began instructing almost a decade ago. More often than not the snow is worthy and it’s a great time to get your legs back under you for the rest of the season. Combine that with caliber National team members every year, getting to ride with old friends, and daily tech talk on a variety of subjects - I love it.”
“An opportunity to get to know and ski with some of the national team members.”
“What I enjoy the most is the overall energy and enthusiasm for snow sports and education. Being with so many awesome people sharing ideas on the hill, on the chair and over a beer.”
“Fall Fest is a great opportunity to meet new people, ski with National Team members, and perfect those pesky technique issues while getting your ski legs back for the season.”
“I like to meet new people and reconnect with friends and find my winter ski legs with the help of amazing instructors.”
“It is a great way to get back your ski legs as well as a chance for some certification. I have taken my CS1 and CS2 at fall fest so I didn’t miss out on peak season lessons.”
“Come December, I look forward to seeing old friends and colleagues and meeting new inspiring faces. On top of that, I can kick start my season with challenging and dynamic training opportunities that set my focus for the upcoming year.”
“Shennanigans? Tom Foolery? And really cold beer? All 3 in one place and I get to ski too!”

Update on the Divisional Agreement and the new Governance Task Force
As it has been a few months since the signing of the Divisional Agreement by five of the PSIA/AASI divisions, here is a quick update on current events. The five divisions who have signed are still firmly behind the document as the best direction for each of our memberships. This document formalizes our business relationship by spelling out the roles and responsibilities of each of our business where they overlap and will be renewed on a yearly basis. Areas covered by the agreement are divisional boundaries, membership, national certifications, and logo ownership and use. As in any relationship, when roles and responsibilities are defined, each party is better able to work towards the mission. In this case, we are able to more efficiently serve our membership and work toward our shared mission of inspiring a lifelong passion for the mountain experience, helping people grow personally and professionally, creating positive learning experiences, and have more fun!
