The PSIA/AASI NRM Education Foundation (NRM EF) was established in 1991 to serve the membership of NRM by providing financial assistance to instructors who are looking to further their careers and enhance their personal growth the snowsports instruction industry.
The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization in good standing. NRM EF is governed by the Education Foundation Committee under the supervision of the PSIA/AASI NRM Board of Directors.
NRM EF awards scholarships to individuals wishing to further their education in alpine, adaptive, children’s, snowboard and nordic education. The training that members receive as a result of the scholarship program increases their productivity and value as a member and as an instructor in their particular snowsports school. Scholarships are awarded based upon financial need, personal/professional goals, snowsports school experience, and ability and means to share the benefits of the scholarship with other staff members and snowsports area guests.
Average award: individual $75, school $200
Scholarships are funded through donations from our members as well as outside grants and donations. Our primary fund raising event is the Fall Fest Silent Auction. To make a donation to the EF scholarship fund or to donate goods or services to the silent auction please contact the NRM office.
This season we are happy to announce the receipt of a $1,500 grant from the Yellowstone Club Community Foundation (YCCF). The YCCF funds will be added to the scholarship pool for the 2011-2012 season.
To apply for a scholarship, Individuals must do the following:
- Complete the scholarship application
- Provide a written statement about yourself, your personal and professional goals and how you plan to share the information gained from attending the event.
- Obtain a letter of recommendation from your snowsport school director
All application materials must be received at least three weeks prior to the event (for which funding is being requested)
