NRM Children's Specialist Program
Children’s Specialist a History
The Accreditated Children’s Educator was created for NRM by Marie Shaw and company to supplement the need for Children’s Education and Accreditation for NRM members. Any ACE instructor from NRM will be recognized by PSIA-AASI National as a Children’s Specialist 2 Instructor. With your Children’s Specialist 1 or 2 you will be recognized through out the USA at all PSIA- AASI member schools as being a highly qualified children’s educator. The Children’s Specialist 2 is a pre-requisite in many divisions, including NRM, to become a member of the divisional education staff. It is also required in order to try out for the National Teams.
The Children’s Specialist Credentialing program came out of a need to unify standards and curriculum across PSIA-AASI so we are all on the same page. For instance when a instructor from another division comes to NRM or vice versa. The instructor’s new school can have a clear idea of that persons experience and knowledge is when it comes to working with children in snowsports.
