Nordic Rendezvous Review
April 2006, Big Sky

This web page shares with you the highlights of the Annual Nordic Rendezvous held in April in Big Sky, Montana. This year we were graced with the presence of Demo Team members Scott McGee and Dan Clausen, who spent 3 days with us teaching and socializing. Each day we had options to choose from depending on our interests. Those options included telemark instruction, crust cruising in Yellowstone National Park and kite skiing with guest instructors, Jeff and Denise, from Sun Valley . Some highlights include skiing the North Summit Snowfield off the top of Lone Peak two out of three days, a perfect morning of crust cruising in the Park, kite skiing and social evenings eating pizza, burgers, and pitchers of the usual….

Some thoughts from participants regarding this event include:

“I usually enjoy clinics and always pick up a couple of new things, but I have never been to a clinic like this where it seemed like I was picking up new ideas and skills every minute. I wasn't kidding when I said I had never been to a better one. I attribute that to Scott who is just flat out, a Master. As a teacher he was approachable and understated. He is one of those rare teachers who can actually integrate descriptions (simple or esoteric depending on the student) and demonstrations of skills in a way that makes them understandable. His critiques or correctives were always simple, positive and dead-on.” - George Corn

“Skiing with the Demo Team Members is truly inspirational. Dan and Scott can explain a concept or progression with absolute clarity, ski it perfectly, and provide us with valuable feedback to take us to the next level.” - Angela Patnode

The Nordic Rendezvous will be offered again this coming April. Do not miss out on this national event, the fun, the learning, and skiing with the Demo Team Members! Look for details this fall and register early!
